Tickton Grange Wedding Photographer

Are you looking for a Tickton Grange Photographer?

Tickton Grange Hotel is a lovely choice for couples looking for a wedding with plenty of character, relaxed country-house charm and beautiful outdoor space. Just a few miles from Beverley, this family-owned Georgian house sits within around 20 acres of private gardens and meadowland, giving the venue a real sense of space while still feeling intimate and welcoming.
There are a few different ways to get married at Tickton Grange, depending on the feel you’re after. The classic House Wedding centres around the elegant Rose Room, with the Garden Room also forming part of the house wedding experience. For something a little more rustic and relaxed, the Farmstead is tucked behind the main house and includes the Old Chauffeur’s Garage and Foldyard, with beams, fireside details and a more country feel. There is also the option of an outdoor ceremony, with the venue’s garden pavilion providing a pretty setting surrounded by the formal gardens

From a photography point of view, Tickton Grange gives you loads to play with. The formal gardens are an obvious starting point for couple portraits, with lawns, mature planting and the Georgian house providing a lovely backdrop. The venue specifically includes access to four acres of formal gardens and around 16 acres in total for photographs and exploring, so there is plenty of opportunity to move away from the main building and capture something a little more natural and relaxed.

The outdoor ceremony setting beneath the pavilion pillars could also make for some beautiful photographs, particularly with the gardens behind you. It gives you the option of photographing the ceremony itself in a light, open setting before making the most of the surrounding grounds for confetti, group photographs and newlywed portraits. The venue itself describes the garden pavilion as being set against its manicured gardens, so it is a particularly photogenic part of the day.

For couples who prefer photographs that feel less formal, the meadowland and wider grounds are where Tickton Grange really come into their own. Heading out for a little wander gives you the chance to capture more relaxed photographs away from the guests, with open countryside and greenery providing a completely different feel from the formal gardens. It is the sort of venue where you don’t necessarily need to spend ages posing – a short walk together can produce plenty of natural moments and varied backgrounds.

The Georgian house itself also provides plenty of opportunities when the weather isn’t playing ball. Inside, there are characterful rooms, fireplaces, artwork, books and large Georgian sash windows, giving you lots of interesting details and pockets of good light to work with. The Hockney Room, for example, has a distinctive character of its own, while the various rooms throughout the house retain their individual style rather than feeling like a blank hotel interior.

The bridal preparations can be particularly lovely for photographs too. Tickton Grange has individually styled bedrooms and suites spread throughout the Georgian house, farmhouse wing and Granary, many with garden views and plenty of character. The Dale suite, for example, has floor-to-ceiling sash windows, a garden vista, sitting area and fireplace, while the Dearing suite has a four-poster bed and Georgian-inspired interiors.
There are also plenty of opportunities for those little in-between photographs that help tell the story of the day – drinks in the gardens, guests chatting on the lawn, children running around, confetti, the walk between different parts of the venue and those quieter moments between the bigger parts of the celebration. With the formal gardens, Georgian interiors, meadowland and rustic Farmstead all in one place, you can get quite a varied collection of photographs without needing to leave the venue.
For couples who love photographs with a bit of variety, Tickton Grange is particularly useful because you can mix elegant Georgian-house photographs with relaxed countryside portraits. One minute you can be photographing a beautifully dressed couple against the house or gardens, and a few minutes later you’re wandering through the meadowland capturing something much more informal. That combination gives the wedding gallery a nice balance between the classic, the romantic and the completely natural.
