Hello! I’m Julia, award winning wedding photographer and pet ‘pawtrait’ photographer based in York, North Yorkshire. A keen snowboarder who also loves the summer sun, I moved to the beautiful city of York that I now call ‘home’ in 2009.

I genuinely love attending weddings, but being the person who gets to photograph weddings as a career and being able to share in other couples’ ‘best day ever’ is an absolute dream. My typical style of wedding photography is vibrant (I love colour!) and fun, yet timeless and romantic. I’m a friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated character, who wants to make your wedding day as relaxed as possible. Every couple and every wedding is different, so I aim to really get to know each couple I work with so I can capture the feelings and memories that make your photographs special and personal to you.

My other passion is animals, and I believe that each animal has their own individual personality just like humans do. Heard the phrase “Never work with animals or children”? Well, I love it, and find photographing animals (and children) to be one of the most rewarding professions.

I’m known to be a little bit of a ‘crazy cat lady’ with two kitties of my own (mad enough to get them painted onto my Doc Martens!). Sadly, our pets are not with us forever, which is why I decided to start pet portrait photography, to capture treasured memories of our furry family members.

Achieving my Master Craftsman qualification with the Guild of Professional Photographers with a panel of 20 cat images has been the highlight of my Pet Photography career to date. Fewer than 50 photographers in the country hold the Master Craftsman title so it really is an incredible accomplishment.

Where do I start? Julia is incredible! Having Julia as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. Julia is absolutely exceptional as what she does, we first hired her to be our wedding photographer and oh my goodness she is a breath of fresh air! Not only is she incredibly talented she has the sweetest heart and we could not of asked for anyone more amazing than Julia to capture our special day!
