Dating back to the 16th century, Whitley Hall is an ivy-clad Tudor mansion nestled in 20 acres of picturesque gardens and woodland. Originally known as Launder House, it was transformed into the stately home seen today by the Parker family in the late 1500s. A stone lintel inscribed with “Willm Parker: made this worke 1584” commemorates this transformation.The hall’s storied past includes serving as a boys’ boarding school and a military residence during World War II. In 1969, it was converted into a restaurant and later became a hotel, becoming the first venue in South Yorkshire licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies in 1995.
