Situated at 89 The Mount, this Grade II-listed Georgian mansion dates back to the early 19th century. Originally a private residence, it later served as St Stephen’s Orphanage until 1976, providing shelter and training to orphaned girls for over a century. In 2016, a plaque was unveiled to commemorate this rich history.

Following a £900,000 refurbishment in 2024, the hotel seamlessly combines its historical architecture with modern design. The interiors feature bold patterns and vibrant colours inspired by York’s landmarks, alongside upcycled furniture and new French farmhouse and British-made pieces.
