Awards I have received
Hi there! You might have noticed by now that some of my photographs from weddings I’ve photographed and from your Pet Pawtrait shoots have award badges pinned to them, and a few of you are probably wondering what they are and what they mean?
Each month I enter a competition run by The Guild of Photographers, where images are submitted into the appropriate category of our choice, for a large group of highly experienced judges to critique and award appropriately, grading them in accordance with international judging criteria, and the higher scoring images are given Bronze, Silver, Gold Awards or maybe even the highly sought after Platinum Bar (very rare achievement). The highest scoring images also have the distinction of being an ‘Image of the Month’, and every image awarded bronze or higher has points allocated depending on the level of the award, which all count towards several titles at the end of the year, including ‘Photographer of the Year’ in any chosen category and the ‘Image of the Year’ title.

Applicants can obtain optional one to one feedback of their images after the results are announced each month from one of the judges, who gives pointers and constructive critique to help improve with any future image entries and for personal development.
So far I have been awarded a number of Bronze awards for both my wedding photography images and pet pawtrait images which I am really chuffed with, and a couple of my pet pawtrait images have achieved Silver awards which I’m immensely proud of, however my personal goals for this year are to achieve a Gold award in one (or more!) of my images, and to chase the ‘Pet photographer of the year’ award. There are a lot of hugely talented pet photographers who have been doing this a lot longer than me, so even just to make the top 10 would be my biggest achievement to date.
