Peter and Paula’s Wedding Day

Peter and Paula’s Wedding Day

Peter and Paula’s wedding day in Richmond, North Yorkshire. I travel all over Yorkshire to photograph your special day, so it was a pleasure to visit Richmond for Peter and Paula’s intimate wedding ceremony at Richmond Registry Office (have a look at their wedding page here). It was a beautiful service attended by their closest family members along with their 3 children.

Paula looked beautiful in a floaty white dress with lace detail, and Peter and his son’s looked very dapper in matching blue suits and ties, and their daughter in a gorgeous pink beaded dress that she picked out herself.

After the ceremony we celebrated with some photographs of throwing confetti just outside the Registry Office. We then took a walk to the park just a very short walk from the Registry Office, a really pretty spot with lots of trees, greenery and colourful flowers, perfect for some group family photographs and some intimate newlywed photographs as well.

I love smaller more intimate weddings as much as I love large weddings; you get to meet the bride and groom and their wedding guests on a more personal level in such a short space of time which is really nice. This is especially if this is the first time we meet face to face, like with Paula and Peter.

You may have seen me mention in a previous blog and a few times on social media about the importance of capturing the more posed family group photographs, and I’m going to say it again; how often is it that your nearest and dearest are all in the same place together, dressed their best on one of, if not THE most important day of your life? Sadly it’s not often. I make the most of your chosen group photographs, and also go round different groups of people during the wedding day to capture more informal photographs of your guests as well.

Paula’s beloved father sadly passed away earlier this year, and Paula messaged me to let me know, along with telling me that the most treasured possession she now owns are the photographs I took of her and her dad from her wedding day. I am truly heartbroken for Paula and her family, but I am so pleased I made the effort to photograph moments such as those below.

Peter and Paula’s wedding day really was a beautifully intimate day at Richmond Registry Office North Yorkshire, filled with love and laughter, and celebrating their love for each other with their closest family.
