How Much Does a Wedding Photographer Cost in York?

My full-day wedding photography packages range from £1,700 to £2,300, and every single one includes unlimited coverage from your morning preparations through to just after your first dance, a pre-wedding photoshoot, and a full download of all your high-resolution images. There are no hidden costs and no hourly limits to watch. Below I break down exactly what you get at each price point, so you know precisely where your money goes.

One of the first questions every couple asks me is about price, and honestly, I love that. You deserve a straight answer before you fall in love with anyone’s portfolio. So here is mine, with everything laid out on the table. You can also see the full details any time on my wedding photography packages page.

How much do my wedding photography packages cost?

I offer three full-day packages, and the difference between them comes down to how you’d like to keep and display your photographs afterwards:

USB Digital Package, £1,700. Full-day wedding photography with your complete set of high-resolution images delivered on a wooden USB stick in a presentation box. You also get an online viewing gallery to share with family and friends, sneak peek images shortly after the day, and drone images where weather and venue restrictions allow.

Classic Wedding Album Package, £1,900. Everything in the USB Digital Package, plus a stunning 8″ x 8″ classic wedding album. If you’d like to go bigger, you can upgrade to a 10″ x 10″ album for £200 more, or a 12″ x 12″ for £300 more.

Luxury Wedding Package, £2,300. The full works: full-day coverage, a luxury 12″ x 12″ wedding album, a pair of accordion mini highlight books (gorgeous as gifts for parents), and a highlight reel of one to three minutes set to music.

What is included in every package?

Whichever package you choose, the foundations are identical, because I don’t believe the core of your day should cost extra. Every full-day package includes:

  • Full-day coverage, starting two to three hours before your ceremony and running until roughly 8:30pm, so preparations through to just after your first dance
  • A full download of ALL your high-resolution, watermark-free images, in both colour and black and white
  • A pre-wedding photoshoot (Monday to Friday), which is the perfect way for us to get comfortable together before the big day
  • A pre-wedding consultation to talk through your plans and everything you want from your photographs
  • A password-protected online viewing gallery, with the option for family and friends to order professional prints
  • Travel within approximately two hours of York
  • Secure backup of your wedding images, because those files are precious
  • Me on the end of the phone or email whenever you need anything at all

Why do wedding photography prices vary so much?

Prices vary mainly because of experience, the hours of coverage offered, and what is actually included once you read the small print. A lower headline figure can sometimes mean fewer hours on the day, a limited number of edited images, or albums and full-resolution files charged as extras later. When you compare wedding photographers, always ask what the final total buys you, not just what the starting price is.

There is also an enormous amount of unseen work behind the price. For every wedding I photograph, there are days of careful editing afterwards, plus the consultation, the pre-wedding shoot, the planning and the secure storage of your images. I hold a Master Craftsman qualification with the Guild of Professional Photographers, a title held by fewer than 50 photographers in the country, and that level of craft goes into every gallery I deliver.

My honest advice? Choose the photographer whose work makes your heart skip and whose package genuinely covers your whole day, like the joyful confetti moments and the packed dance floor you’ll find in my wedding photography gallery. If you are still venue hunting, my guide to photographing weddings at Hazlewood Castle gives you a feel for how I work on the day.

What optional extras can I add?

A few popular additions can be bolted onto any package:

  • Second wedding photographer, £400: organised by me, ideal for larger weddings or when you both want morning preparations covered at different locations
  • Additional USB stick, £100: a second memory stick with the full set of high-resolution images, lovely for parents
  • Highlights reel, £300: a short reel of around one to three minutes capturing key moments from your day, put together to music (already included in the Luxury Package)
  • Print boxes: personalised boxes filled with 100 of your favourite professionally printed photographs, in a range of colours

Is travel included in the price?

Yes, travel within approximately two hours of York is included in every package, which covers the whole of Yorkshire comfortably, from the Dales to the coast. If your venue is further afield, there may be a travel fee, but I will always tell you exactly what that is before you book, never after.

How do I check availability and book?

The simplest way is to get in touch through my contact page with your date and venue, and I will come straight back to you. We can then arrange a relaxed chat about your plans, and I can show you some of my albums in person so you can feel the quality for yourself.

Your wedding photographs are the one thing that lasts long after the cake is eaten and the flowers have faded, and I would be absolutely thrilled to be the wedding photographer capturing yours. I can’t wait to hear your plans!
